These mods don’t even begin to compare to the full suite of craziness on offer in the Smash Bros. While mods are possible in the newer titles for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, they usually sum up to single-character skins or lighter gameplay modifications. While there is a non-Brawl mod on this list, most of the mods covered here are Brawl mods, as they have done the most to change the base game and have had the longest development time. In addition to adding the first third party characters, Brawl also found itself open to an international modding community, dedicated to cracking it open, improving it, adding to it and even taking away from it. Adding third-party characters to Smash opened a Pandora’s Box, of sorts, one that has only gotten more and more out of control in the years sense. Brawl is where the crossovers got truly crazy, with characters like Solid Snake and Sonic The Hedgehog making their way into Smash Bros. It expanded the roster, had incredibly deep and technical gameplay, and became a darling for the competitive scene, a crown it carries to this day. Melee, for Nintendo GameCube, followed a few years later. for Nintendo 64 brought characters from all of Nintendo’s mainline franchises (and a few of their obscure ones) in a nigh-unprecedented gaming crossover event. is a hit game series from Nintendo, known for establishing the platform fighter genre and its nigh unprecedented crossovers. Smash Bros Legacy is a non profit fan made mod utilizing Super Smash Bros. I created this updated cover design for a fictional game case as a fan of the mod, and to support the team's endeavors through all they have and will continue to accomplish! Enjoy. Legacy XP features newcomers that have been long desired in official Smash titles such as Waluigi, and Geno! It also includes decloned versions of Ganondorf and Lucina, as well as two takes on Ridley even before Ultimate revealed he was finally joining the official roster! You also have both Metal Sonic and Shadow to enjoy, as well as the entire roster from Melee to choose from. This community of designers has continued the legacy, and have added to it in the form of a game that brings you more than just Melee styled gameplay. Super Smash Bros Legacy is a modded version of Brawl that continues on from the last build made by the Project M team. Especially when you have awesome content like this to show your support! Plus! The devs just released version 2.1! The year is 20XP, and the hype cannot be contained. This version is an alternate take with no Wii branding on the case. I've seen various takes of a box/case design floating around for quite awhile, but most of them have been around since the earlier builds of the game! I wanted to attempt making a case showcasing the game's most recent features and designs.
